PALS Legacy FundPALS LEGACY FUND SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship celebrating the Human-Animal Bond.
About the Scholarship
The PALS Legacy Fund awards up to 2 merit-based scholarships per year to people who demonstrate exemplary character and commitment in pursuit of their goals.
Baxter – our inspiration for the Legacy Fund
The Background:
The Legacy Fund was founded in 2021 in memory of Baxter Phillips, an easy-going, tail wagging PALS volunteer who spread peace, love and joy at his visits for over 5 years. In his memory and the memory of the incredible two and four legged ambassadors that PALS loses each year, the PALS Legacy Fund was created. A fund celebrating the Human-Animal bond and PALS mission of Pets Helping People.
The PALS Legacy Fund’s focus is on individuals who are needing financial support under the following ‘Approved Areas of Funding’:
- Pursuit of post secondary education
 - Tutoring support
 - Special needs program support
 - Learning tools and educational support
 - Equipment

While the scholarship amount may change from year to year based on the funds available, PALS is committed to awarding a minimum scholarship of $500 to each recipient.
It is PALS’ hope to keep the legacy of those who passed as a vibrant part of PALS, as their legacy provides strength and purpose to the PALS mission.
